We were always very drawn to the idea of becoming more mindful and present as we tried traditional meditative practices that often times felt quite rigid and intimidating.
Although we understood the value of stillness-based practices we still struggled with meditation as we had trouble finding the focus, time, and space needed to partake in simple and yet confoundingly unattainable exercises.
“we tried traditional meditative practices that often times felt quite rigid and intimidating, we wanted to change that”
As we trialed along through our mindful practices, we felt the need to find a guided analogue mindfulness space that we could access any time and anywhere. We tried apps and the like but to our demise the digital component of these meditations felt obstructive in a time when we were hungry to have a small, yet essential analogue moment for ourselves.
“a guided analogue mindfulness space that you can access any time and anywhere”
So we began to use beads and to sit in silence during the commute or during lunch break but then that started to draw too much unnecessary attention to a supposedly introspective meditation practice.
Then coloring came along and we started to draw mountains, and spirals, and stars, so we could trace our breath, so we could count our mantras and so we could focus on our intention and on our exploration of the self. And that decidedly helped, to have that break between the breaks to count the breath with focus, dynamism, and intimacy.
So the coloring method was born, to create that space we were looking for; because the present moment felt as such a beautiful place to be and there was this one, easygoing, breathable, expansive, inner-child tool that worked so well in getting us closer to to that beautiful present we were longing for.
Supporting Forest Protection
We depend on forests for our survival, they play an essential function in regulating climate change and in purifying our air. Forests provide habitat for numerous animals and plants with medicinal purposes as well as aiding in the regulation of soil erosion, watershed protection, and the prevention of natural disasters such as avalanches.
Despite the importance of forests, they are continuing to disappear at an alarming rate. This is the case for many tropical forests which provide a key role in regulating the amount of oxygen and water that supports life on earth. Healthy tropical forests vibrate with life and support the planet by influencing the hydrological cycle and the composition of the atmosphere. For this reason, part of the proceeds of the Coloring Method will be donated towards tropical forest protection in Colombia, home of the world’s largest tropical forest.
Millennial Woman-owned
When you support a millennial woman owned-business you are contributing to today’s generation’s rising spirit of entrepreneurship and social commitment. Millennials have come of age during a global environmental crisis, two global financial meltdowns, soaring student debt, low wage-growth, unemployment and underemployment, a housing bust, and limited access to credit.
As millennial entrepreneurs we love what we do but nonetheless we can only thrive with the support of our communities. By buying our products you are encouraging and promoting the same people which will lead this world to a new era of social conscience and creative responsibility.

Indie Publishing House
We are a small design house bringing independently published coloring books into the larger conversation of mindfulness practices. We print our books based on an environmentally conscious print-on-demand model, where there is less waste from a large print run.
In today’s publishing industry dominated by a monopoly of a few large publishing houses, indie publishers disrupt the current top-down approach in order to share powerful works that bring a larger meaning and social impact to society. When you buy from an indie publisher you are bringing diverse voices and points of view into our larger paradigm. Without indie publishers, books would be less diverse, more narrow, and more defined by corporate interests.
